Hey Coach,
I am so jealous of your adventures. One day in the not too distant future I hope to attempt the AT myself. Maybe if I bug my wife, Carol, sufficiently, she’ll beg me to get it over with. My offer still stands to meet you at a trailhead and bring you a resupply, or drive you into town, or bring you back to Brevard for a home cooked meal and a bed…or all of the above! In April, weekdays are best but I would be available certain Saturdays or Sunday afternoons. I hope you hear from you soon.

hey! We might have met! I’d come off the trail at Deep Gap for a night in town and was driven back to the gap Easter morning 2013 to find the Omelette Angels with their amazing set up! They were deeply disappointed that I’d already eaten breakfast at an AYCE buffet in town but delighted to prepare me a hefty awesome sandwich for later. I do believe they might have included a little paper napkin.
That was indeed a rainy soggy day and i didn’t make good time at all. Ended up camping some ways before the shelter, setting up in near pouring rain in the middle of a rhododendron thicket. Seriously, the skies paused only barely long enough for me to make camp. Glad my little LightHeart Gear tent had an awning for me to cook under that night!
Not another sold around for miles and I slept the best sleep of my life. A;bert was the next morning.
Thanks for the memories!
